Damnit! You clicked on Privacy Policy. I was hoping you wouldn't click on that and I would be able to continue the charade that Wikiryan has a perfectly benign Privacy Policy that will protect your interests for ever. Most people believe that the existence of a privacy policy on a website means that the website in question has your best interests at heart. But it ain't always so.

Since you bothered to click the link and get actual details I should admit to you that the Privacy Policy here at Wikiryan is that once you visit this website I own you and your immortal soul for all time.

Naturally this is a policy that I am going to find difficult to enforce. For instance many of you, a majority even, having now visited this website and thought briefly to yourself "gee the internet sure is full of crap these days", will shortly from now close the browser window and then successfully go about the rest of your life as if I don't own you. As irksome as this is for me I will console myself with the knowledge that I am the proud owner of tens and tens of disobedient human souls right around the world.

However a minority of you will not be so lucky. A minority of you will do something stupid like accidentally post your bank account details on this website. Ahhhhh! That is when I will exercise my rights of ownership over you. I will own you by withdrawing all of your money (my money) from your bank account.

Nothing you do will change the fact that you have visited this website and I now own you. This makes "privacy policy" quite a misnomer. However I guess the moral of the story is that, even though I now own you (I hate to use the word slave: it has such negative connotations), you can probably go on living your life as if I do not in fact own you if you are careful about what you post on this website. You make up your own mind was to whether or not it is a good idea to post you bank account details here.

Yes this is a wiki, which means I want you to write things and contribute to this website and get involved in the community spirit that I have done so much to foster in the previous 3 paragraphs. Just be aware that nothing is guaranteed about anything you submit to this website. You have some concerns that something you are about to post to this website might be abused in some way? Then don't post it. Seriously.
